There is a custom based in Kabbalah to have a copy of Psalm 121 in the delivery room, in the baby’s crib once he is born (attached safely, of course), and adorning the doorways of one’s house when the baby is brought home. There are two reasons for this custom: 1. Reciting Psalm 121 is said to arouse God's mercy for an easy and healthy birth. 2. Parents can jumpstart a baby’s Jewish education by surrounding him with holy words and images from the time he is born.
