CHELYABINSK, Russia – A camp for Jewish youth has just wrapped up in the Urals city of Chelyabinsk. It was a big success, according to Rabbi Meir Kirsch, a Chabad Lubavitch emissary who organized and led the camp on behalf of the local Jewish community.

One of the indicators of the success of this summer experience was the fact that 13 Brit Mila ceremonies took place during the camp season. These ritual circumcisions involved a number of the campers, as well several fathers and grandfathers of the campers.

Mohel Shaya Shafit traveled to the camp from Brit Yosef Yitzchak Center in Moscow especially to conduct these circumcisions. Rabbi Kirsch and the camp counselors organized celebrations following this important event in the life of each participant.
