Adult circumcisions are performed in an operating room by a surgeon Mohel with a doctor and male nurses in attendance. A local anesthetic is administered, and the procedure is completed within 20 minutes. During the ceremony, the recipient is given a Hebrew name. Following the circumcision, he stays in the hospital another hour for observation.
If the recipient never had a Bar Mitzvah, Brit Yosef Yitzchak provides him with a new pair of Tefillin, as well as other religious items. The joyous occasion culminates with the traditional festive meal.
