There are a few things that you will need to bring with you to the Brit:

• Written proof of Jewishness
• BCC blood test

You may also take advantage of the moment by bringing the Hebrew name of friend or family that might need blessings, and pray for them during the Brit at the time when all the doors of heaven are open.

The names must be in traditional format:

For women: Hebrew name, bat (meaning daughter of), mother’s Hebrew name(s).
Example: Rivka bat Leah

For men: Hebrew name, ben (meaning son of), mothers Hebrew name(s).
Example: Mordechai ben Dvora

If you do not know the mother’s Hebrew name, you may use the name Sarah, as we are all the daughters and sons of Sarah.
